We have been very busy with school activities and in concluding this e-twinning project but found time to put in action what really concerned us once we learned about the problems waste is creating to our globe. Living on the coast learning about the Garbage Patch the students involved in this project which helped them acknowledge the issue and made them want to actively do something to solve it.  So we took the students to our beaches and together we collected all the waste we found.   We were followed by the local TV cameras and interviewed.  At the end of the morning we collected over 110 kg of waste, the majority of which was plastic.

The class has been learning about the causes of pollution and what should change to make our cities greener so putting together what they have learnt and using a lot of imagination and creativity they created an ebook using StoryJumper. The result is incredible and we are all very proud of the outcome.  Here’s the link to the book so enjoy! Our E-book

Greeting Cards

O ne of the tasks for January was to share Greeting cards for the New Year with a school partner and we were paired with Arwa School in Jordan.   The students created their cards and posted them on the Padlet created by the teacher.   There was engagement and it was a good way to start the New Year. https://padlet.com/eve386fa/sd9xxzpypxof0cfb

Creating and choosing our logo

Image
This first week the students used web2 tools to create logos that they thought could best represent the project. Some students used Canva and others LogoMaker and each had their own personal idea of what our logo should look like. I created a poll so that the students could vote for the logo they believed the best and we have our The winner is…..

The beginning

We started this new project today! As the English teacher for my 2D linguistic class I chose to be part of this project on Friday and did all the preliminary activities to get started.  This morning I brought my students to our new Computer Lab for the first time!  It was their first time in the room and for some of the students the first time they are part of the e-twinner community.  A few of the students worked on a successful project last year.   We've been discussing Environmental issues in class for the last month and this project fit us perfectly! We are happy to be able to work with such a large group and eager to get to work and to get to know our new partners.
